A persona is a way to summarize and communicate trends and patterns about people who have been observed or researched. 

Each persona represents a significant portion of people in the real world, enabling teams to create solutions for different kinds of individuals and design for a specific person rather than a generic everybody.

Personas help teams understand who they are building products or processes for and their goals, focusing requirements on the users’ needs.
