Creating a Network Recording

Overview

To assist the engineering team in diagnosing issues that arise when using our software, one tool you can provide is a network recording.

This allows the engineers to see what you are doing, click by click, as well as monitor the network activity. To provide the recording, please follow these steps:

Steps

  1. Open Google Chrome and go to the page where you are having the issue.

  2. Look for the vertical ellipsis button and select More Tools > Developer Tools.

 

  1. You will then see another vertical ellipsis inside the new tab

  2. Once clicked, you will see another option for More Tools -> Recorder

  1. Click Start new recording and reproduce the steps that caused the problem. The recorder will record each click you make, step by step, along with the performance it generates.

  2. When finished, click on the red End recording button

  3. At the top of the screen, you will see the Download button.

 

 

  1. Select Export as a Puppeteer script

  2. Please attach that file to your QES ticket for the engineering team to view.
